Wedding look book- P+S

Hold tight to your umbrella, we are running to the chapel!!

It was a beautiful June Sunday morning in North Texas. But, as every North Texan knows… the weather is unpredictable. The couple and I worked overtime to create the stunning, intimate vision the Bride had in mind. The kicker was, that it was all outside under the romantic lighting and the stars above.

That morning, I felt a nudge from the Lord that I needed to bring backup. Rain wasn’t even in the forecast but I did not want to risk it! Who was this helper? My Husband of course! I clearly needed the muscles for what was about to come.

We spent a few hours preparing the set up for 70 people in a long family style table outside. This Bride was 100% a romantic straight out of a Disney channel original movie (Think lizzie Maguire movie. She even had a pianist play “This is what dreams are made of” after their ceremony) and I was on the same wavelength of her vision and dream for the day. I even had the honor of delivering a love letter to the groom from her during the day.

I started seeing some clouds rolling in that didn’t look too good… It was time to begin our pre-planned “rain plan”. Plan B was to move the tables under the patio for coverage form the rain but still outdoors. So that’s what we did. Little did we know, out of know where the storm front had extremely high and damaging winds that came ripping though the veranda trashing everything that was being set on the table!! Thankfully, I decided to wait until the last second to put out the 200+ candles and flower bud vases. All that was destroyed was some preset glass tea lights and blew off the linens and chargers that the catering team was beginning to set out.

During this crazy turn of events, we had a whole team squeezing 8 ft tables through a tiny door, inside to plan C. While my husband and the catering team were doing clean up and set up at the same time, I knew I needed to updated the Bride/Groom. They obviously saw the storm form the windows but I positively assured them that the set up inside was turning out beautiful and all the romance was still there! They were so understanding, and I am so proud of their optimism and “keeping the main thing, the main thing”. All that mattered in that moment was starting forever with their person!

We waited out the rain for about 30 min before starting the ceremony which was now inside at the chapel across the way from the building. We passed out umbrellas and went for it! The ceremony was blissful, and we walked out to the most beautiful clouds/sunset we could have been blessed with!

The rest is history… everyone partied and danced all night and no one wanted the night to end. P + S, it was an honor to serve you and an honor to experience your authentic love for each other even in the midst of a storm.
